Stian Andersen

Stian Andersen is one of Norway’s most renowned music video directors and photographers. For the last 20 years he has travelled the globe working for both Norwegian and international clients in music, fashion, advertising as well as documentary photography and commercial film.

Stian has directed music videos for artists like Karpe, Robyn, Røyksopp, Highasakite, Ane Brun, Kvelertak and Susanne Sundfør. The music videos have racked up more than 40 million views on YouTube alone. His music videos and documentary film have collected numerous awards across Europe as well as in the States, and have been showcased at film festivals in (almost) every corner of the world.

Stian has directed commercial films for clients like Citroën, Choice Hotels, Kreftforeningen, Tv2, New Energy and DNB Bank to name a few. He is known for his energy driven films with striking and beautiful imagery.

In 2014 Stian Andersen made the documentary film “The Return to Mouthatal” about the legendary Rock’n’Roll band Backstreet Girls. The film was shown at cinemas in Norway and was rewarded with the first price for best foreign documentary at the Indie Fest Film Awards in LA.

As a photographer, Stian has more than 50 album covers under his belt, shooting with the likes of a-ha, Røyksopp, Highasakite and Alan Walker, and has photographed artists like Prince, Johnny Cash, Daft Punk, Michael Jackson, Beastie Boys and Oasis.

His work has been published in editorial mastodonts like Der Spiegel, Time Magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine, The Guardian, Stern, and Vogue Magazine.

His many exhibitions and book projects has also been on display in art galleries in Europe including cities like London, Oslo and Stockholm.
